A Backyard Gender Reveal
An intimate backyard reveal that gathered our closest people in a season when gathering was hard.
Our own gender reveal, my husband's and mine, at the tail end of 2020. An intimate, family-only gathering of about thirty in our backyard: a tent, rented tables and chairs, catered food, and confetti and smoke poppers for the big moment (the secret safely kept by someone else until then). In a season when gathering was hard, it was a chance for our closest people to stand with us for something joyful.
